Abarth 500/595
We got our development Abarth 595 at the end of 2016. The vehicle was a 2016 series 3 model with the euro 6 engine. The T-jet engine found in the Abarth was introduced back in 2008 and provided great performance in a small package. originally quoted to have 135bhp they went through several iterations including 140 / 145 / 160 / 180 variations.
Our test vehicle was on the newer euro 6 engine software with 140ps as standard equipped with the ihi turbo. On our advanced Maha msr500 dyno the vehicle made 145bhp / 205nm in stock form. We then applied our stage 1 map to the vehicle and achieved a very reasonable 170bhp / 253nm. As you can see in the dyno plot above the dotted line represents the original stock run, gains are across the entire rev range with large gains of 58nm at 3200rpm and 35bhp at 4600rpm.
The next step was to improve the airflow for the vehicle. A performance Air Filter, silicon Turbo Intake Hose was added as well as a Cobra-Sport Cat-Back 2.5" exhaust system (2.25"stock). This allowed the vehicle to boost earlier and allowed the vehicle to breathe better through the rpms.
We achieved just under 180bhp and 265nm. From the dyno plots you can see the better results the performance parts allowed us to achieve when combined with our stage 1 map. For more power on the ihi turbo an uprated actuator and full induction kit (with a cold air feed) is needed. Please note - the earlier euro 5 engines do tend to react a little better to tuning.
•Stage 1 - This map is for the a stock vehicle and is benefitted with minor upgrades. Peak boost hits 1.2Bar on the ihi turbo and allows the vehicle to make 170-175bhp with 255-265nm (these are dyno correct figures measured on our state of the art maha msr500 dyno, please be careful when having remaps carried out without dyno testing). With the engines equipped with the larger Garret gt1446 turbo figures of 200-210bhp and 290-300nm can be achieved.
•£300 inc vat. - post 2016 models with the euro 6 engine (Ecu requires removal)
•£250 inc vat. - pre 2016 models with the euro 5 engine (can read/write through the obd port)
Cobra Sport performance exhausts enhance the sound, looks and quality of your vehicle giving you the ultimate driving experience. Our sports exhausts range is fully guaranteed to give you assurance of our quality.
These Fiat Abarth 500 performance exhausts are made in 2 1/2"/63.5mm pipework and fit from the catalytic converter section backwards (Cat-back) these exhausts replace the centre and rear sections.
The non-resonated exhaust makes the system louder as it excludes the centre silencer and therefore, has a sportier exhaust note. This exhaust however, is also available as a resonated version (including centre silencer) which is a quieter option.
All relevant fittings and gaskets are supplied. Please specify which tailpipe you would like.
Great addition to any standard or re-mapped 595’s
Fast Turbo spool up by using 50mm pipe-work into the turbo and 60mm out of the turbo to help match the throttle body, this combination gives fast turbo spool up and maximum power output.
Will fit any Abarth with Garrett GTI446 Turbo.
Approximate dimensions:
Height – 205mm
